When the mood strikes (which, let’s be honest, was a lot more often before my toddler arrived with her tiny fists and big opinions), I like to break out the art supplies and play. Soft pastels, acrylic ink, watercolours, oil pastels, markers, calligraphy pens — I’m not picky. I love mixing mediums, making messes and seeing what happens.

I’m also a big fan of the idea of art holidays. Just me and my sketchbook, and the thrilling, edge-of-your-seat experience of drawing park benches and coffee cups in different time zones. I’ve done these a couple of times; I always return home convinced that I should change careers.
